CJISST PARTNERS
The Central Jersey Invasive Species Strike Team is a pilot project between the Upper Raritan Watershed Association and Friends of Hopewell Valley Open Space. We hope to expand our efforts on all preserved land in our project area and eventually over all of Central NJ.
We encourages every organization and private party who owns or manages open space in the area to partner with us on this project and utilize the Early Detection/Rapid Response (ED/RR) method. We will offer training and resources to help facilitate the process and will synthesize data collected so that all land holders can have access to the locations and densities of newly emerging plants. This method is an effective use of limited resources and prevents small populations from becoming widespread and difficult to manage.
If you are outside our project area, please contact URWA or FoHVOS to learn more about establishing ED/RR in your area.
